Due to the long ripening process, the flavour of Sweet Palermo® develops more slowly than other peppers and is therefore more intense. Furthermore, this versatile vegetable has a longer shelf life thanks to its unique shape.
In 2012 Sweet Palermo® was chosen both by an expert panel of judges and by the public as the ‘Best Dutch Pepper’. Culinary journalist Felix Wilbrink (from Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf) was very enthusiastic: “As well as being sweet, this pointed pepper also had many other flavours waiting to be discovered.” Its sweetness is not overwhelming, but its quality is.
